Hessew New Year!

It is new year's eve.

Biked yesterday for a half hour because it was terribly windy outside, and I'm still a baby.

Today, ran to the lake and back. Callin' it 3.3 to round off a grand total of...

2640 miles for the year.

Overall, I was quite please with running progress this year; however, miles dramatically decreased since August.
Not sure how this next semester's mileage will play out. I don't expect to see a lot of miles, but I do have high hopes for spring and summer.

Skate Running

The snow is melting here and then it freezes again during the night. This leaves plenty of ice to run on.

4.5 to the lake and back. A little farther than the other day in order to avoid mud traps.
Tried Abby's approach with a small PT warm up prior to the run.
More PT after the run.
Alternated push and sit.

Woke up this morning, used the facilities, and went straight into a quarter block quick draw.

Happy Festivus

3.4 mi run today.

It's depressing how out of shape I am.
Two blocks into the run I was already out of breath.
First half was ok temperature wise, but coming back was into the wind.
It was very cold.

32 degrees outside and feels like 22.
The sun even poked through the clouds today.

So scarewee outsite

I was a big baby today and did not go outside to run.
I could have, but didn't. Not because I wasn't motivated, not because I'm hurt, hungry, tired, or dehydrated. I didn't run outside just because I'm a big baby.

Decided to do quick PT while watching third Matrix.

110 push

150 fire

today I made sure that each rep was complete. All the way down and up at a slow pace.
There was more burn today.
Did a sit up variation that was half leg-lever with half sit. It was sort of like folding myself in half. Just not all the way.

Went x-mas shopping today. I hate shopping. There are few things that I hate, but I hate shopping. I rarely use the word hate also, but I hate shopping. I feel like punching everyone I see right in the face when I'm shopping. If I could murder shopping I would.

Winter Chill

In Omaha.
10 degrees outside.
Around 3 in. of snow on the ground.
Feet were numb at the end of this run.
Eyelashes had ice on them.
Am very out of shape.
Lost watch during the trip home.
Probably around 3 miles today.

200 varied sit

The 100 plan doesn't look very achievable right now.
Might have to find a new goal.
Thoughts?

Quater Quick Draw

In a hotel in KC right now. Just ate some fiber rich cereal.
Did a quarter quick draw, which means, instead of 10x10 it was 4x25 blocks.
Push ups were good. Did them quick. Will need to work on form. Don't think I went down far enough. Not enough burning.
Sit ups were harder. Did 4x50. Good burning. Satisfactory workout.

The weather channel says there is a huge cold front coming through the midwest. Charles, if you have not finished your workout yet I would suggest getting it done before the wall of ice hits you.
It's supposed to drop around 40 degrees. Whew.

Keep warm.

We all suffer, but some of us choose when and where.

Yesterday and Today

First real run yesterday in a long long time. Over a month I think.
Pushed the pace because a) I hadn't run in a long time and I was excited to get back, and b) I had a lot of built up tension from finals. It was in the 40s and raining. I didn't care. The lungs begged for air, the heart didn't know what was going on, and the legs got rid of some weakness. I am out of shape, but it felt great to get back out there.
Did a little over 5 miles in a little over 32 in. Right around 6:30s.
Finals are all done!

Today, ran 4 with Leah. Easy today. Legs tight from yesterday's run.
Nice easy run. around 8:30-8:45 pace.

Time for sleep.

I fly to Omaha tomorrow, but drive straight to KC as soon as I get there.
Family emergency.

Quick Draw

It's not 1:32am.

Without exaggeration, I studied all day.
Woke up, studied, got ready, ate lunch, studied, went to presentation, studied, Dx final, dinner, study, back to dorm, study, and finish.

In consideration of time, decided to do anther quick draw.
8: 54 quick draw, 13:00 completion
10 sets 10x varied push 20x varied sit
100 fire haulers
took a break for a few min
100 more fire haulers (the fire started at 18 on this set!)

total time including the second fire hauler set was around 13:00 min.

Lots of weakness leaving the arms, abs, and lots of fire!

my mentality has been lazy. yes, i am busy, but that is not excuse.
