Winter Chill

In Omaha.
10 degrees outside.
Around 3 in. of snow on the ground.
Feet were numb at the end of this run.
Eyelashes had ice on them.
Am very out of shape.
Lost watch during the trip home.
Probably around 3 miles today.

200 varied sit

The 100 plan doesn't look very achievable right now.
Might have to find a new goal.
Thoughts?

Don't give up hope for the 100!!! Maybe delay it a bit, but don't totally scrap the plan. I mean, you already ran 75...by next fall you can be ready for 100, easily.

To be honest, I think you would be able to run 100 sooner than I. Your thin build is good for running long; it lessens the force placed upon your knees and legs and whole body. I, being not as thin as you, will have to take some time increasing my mileage and preparing the body. You are one crazy mo fo who could probably run 100 in February, if you really wanted to. That's the truth.

Yes, it is cold. The windchill was -4 here today, and there was ice on my eyelashes too. I put on some sunglasses, and that helped prevent the formation of the ice, but then they fogged up and I couldn't see anything. I just ran along.

I would suggest that you set some goals. I was pretty despondent a couple weeks ago (after I scrapped the 100 plan), but soon recovered after decided to run the Psycho Wyco in February. Put some races on your calendar (I am trying to find 6 races next year), so then you have something to keep you motivated. And don't go into the race being nervous. Don't compete with anyone, just run the distance, grab a lot of free food at aid stations, and try to pick up chicks.

I kinda like it when I get ice on my eyelashes. It reminds me that I'm doing something that hardly anyone else would do by choice, and that's fun.

Like cd says, maybe just put a race or two on the calendar and don't worry about winning or setting a PR. Just have fun, grab the freebies, and.. okay... pick up chicks. I'll pass on the last.

What was the 100 plan? It's been so long since I've had a regular running schedule I don't remember what it's like to have a goal in mind...
